It is the second last day at the Dairyman’s Cottage and we have a few extra loaves of bread, still-warm creamy milk from the farm’s cow and free-range eggs. What to do?!?
Why, you make a bread pudding, of course! Whipped it up this morning and tried to empty our pantry along the way – one spiced Mead poached pear, dried figs, plump sweetened dried kumquats – all chopped and tossed with the sweet, custard-soaked bread cubes. A sprinkling of finely grated orange zest and there you have it.
Ohhhh….it must of been delicious! All four of you are great around the stove. Enjoy!!!

That is a recipe I would like when you get home. Do we have kumquats in Canada?

Kumquats – yes, but I’ve never seen them orange and ripe like they are here!
